Diviso Stool by Neil Macqueen

Neil Macqueen exhibited his Diviso Stool for UnoFuori Studio at Designersblock 2010 as part of the London Design Festival . An marriage of manufacturing and aesthetics, the Diviso stool is as much about form as function. Macqueen wanted to create a piece of furniture that not only was easy and cost-effective to manufacture, but it was versatile. The Diviso changes with each user’s perspective. Using negative space, Macqueen was able to achieve the look of complexity but with a simple shape.

The contemporary design and beautiful simplicity of this 2-piece sofa and chaise set help make your living room truly feel like home. At first, the tan twill fabric and overstuffed pillows and cushions catch the eye, but the sturdy hard wood and plywood construction will be your favorite components over time. Add supportive s-spring coils and straps with both polyurethane foam and feather cushion fill, and you’ve got a winner on your hands! All fabric upholstery is completely removable, and all the cushions can be removed and repositioned as you’d like. The headrest can be placed anywhere you desire, and is supported by steel tubing. Finishing off the L-shaped sectional are black wooden legs with non-marking feet. Note: the sofa and chaise do not secure to one another and are freestanding pieces. Some assembly is required (legs).
