The Boomerang Wok by Nikolai Carels allows you to flip omelets back onto themselves or cook without flinging food out of your pan. The pan has a strategically-designed inner lip that curves inward to keep food from flying over the edge.

TEEbooks is a new wall system that becomes invisible when books and other items are placed on it. From the designer: Tee, in the words of a golfer is the T-shaped support that is stuck into the ground on which the ball is placed to get started on golfing. It is driven into the ground to make it almost invisible. It is of a fundamental importance, but only as a support “to serve the ball.” I designed TEEbooks following the same principle, a shelf meant to enhance books, DVDs or CDs, in a simple and discreet spirit. When books are placed on the shelf, it becomes invisible and attention is only focused on “our friends”, the books, DVDs and CDs.

Rui Alves is a designer with his own studio called My Own Super Studio based out of Portugal. At DMY Berlin , he presented two new projects, AVÔ Stool and Welcome to the Jungle (above). Welcome to the Jungle: James (elephant), John (hippopotamus), Jeremy (lion), Jerry (giraffe) and Joe (crocodile) Alves noticed that his son, like many children, loves to play with his ever growing collection of toy animals, so he decided to create a grouping of special small pieces that are like a jungle of five friends that you can use almost anyway that you want. They can be tables, stools, or even coat hangers. They can even jump over one another in order to make some shelves.

The Magisso Cake Server was a big hit when we posted it late last year and now they’ve lowered the price and launched a plastic version available in a few fun colors . This simple tool, designed by Finnish art and design student Maria Kivijärvi, slices cakes into the perfect single slice. Just cut and then squeeze the handle to keep the cake slice intact until it reaches your plate
