If one product at ICFF really caught my eye for multi-functional use, it was the Ledge by Urbancase . This wall-hung piece can do duty as a TV stand, desk, media center, entryway table, or even a bookshelf. It has a drawer unit on the left, and a drop-down pull-out shelf on the right

Matt Pugh released some new pieces at ICFF and I got to see some of his older work as well, like the signature owl figurines. The Amy Chair is a soft, low chair handmade from solid oak. The Silly Duck lamp was my fave! The Cat lamp and His & Hers lamps are available in walnut or oak. Love Birds handmade in oak and maple rock back and forth toward and away from each other.

Phase Design has tapped five of the best and brightest international design talents to create a new collection of candlesticks that launched last week at Property in New York during ICFF. Reza Feiz , Arik Levy , CKR (Claesson, Kovisto, Rune) , Khodi Feiz and Mike & Maaike each designed a candleholder using the same design brief and material palette of a 12” X 9” X 1.75” block of solid American walnut with turned brass inserts to stunning effect. Although beginning at the same starting point, the results of this proposal have now come to fruition and are anything but similar. Each piece has been crafted by Phase Design’s long-time wood worker in Vermont to bring these pieces to life

Industrial upholstery is a project from Gilli Kuchik with Gil Sheffi and Ran Amitai, who together make up Tel Aviv-based Bakery Studio , a design collective founded in September 2009. This project explores new ways of upholstering furniture using the upholstery polyurethane foam as the fabric. From the designer: During the research stage of the project, it was apparent that upholstery as a discipline is based on a craftsmanship logic which stayed fairly the same through upholstery history. The Industrialized Upholstery project seeked to create a new upholstering technique which is based on an industrialized logic, and by doing so creating a new aesthetics of upholstery.
