For this week’s installment of CMYLK , we’ve done something a little different. Instead of artwork and rooms, we’ve created Colourlovers palettes for four rugs from Spartanburg, South Carolina-based floor covering company Milliken . These abstract designs are works of art in and of themselves. French designer Caroline Gomez is well known for her simple yet functional objects that focus on natural materials. Pöl is the latest collection that consists of two desktop organizers that serve different purposes. The overall organic shape is meant to reflect a puddle, which is the English word for Pöl. The first is Tablette, which has slots to hold papers, notebooks, and pencils and then Plateau is a storage tray with two separate compartments to keep your small desk accessories. UK-based designer Finn Magee designed these two pieces for Areaware that just launched this week. Called the Flat Life Series, the Clock and Light consist of 2D images performing the function of a 3D object. Yes, that means the light and clock both actually work as expected! Well known for their soft-sided vertical garden wall pockets, Woolly Pocket is back with their latest design, Living Wall Planter . The indoor/outdoor planter is made of a sturdy hard shell with its own self-watering tank with holes to distribute water to the roots when necessary. The modular design is easy to hang on most any surface and it comes with the hardware to do so. Hang one or multiples to create an entire living wall. The shell is vented to keep the excess moisture from oversaturating your plants

Engineering Temporality is the Design Academy Eindhoven graduate project of Tuomas Markunpoika Tolvanen that pays tribute to our temporal nature as human beings. Inspired by his grandmother’s slow decline with Alzheimer’s, Heidegger set out to create objects that could mimic the fragility of our lives. The pieces are made from tubular steel formed into rings and then the “vanishing” is done by burning the pieces with fire

Baines&Fricker ‘s SB03-1 rocker is the first piece in their SB03 series. I can’t wait to see the rest of the series! Made of elm and upholstered in harris tweed, looks like a really comfortable place to read a book or take a nap. Or read a book and then take a nap! I think my LEGO obsession is well documented by now so I immediately jumped for joy over this key hanger from Felix Grauer . Using some basic LEGO bricks you might have leftover from childhood and some easily obtained split rings, you could make your very own based off of this nifty design. I like how you can separate your keys out if you don’t want to carry them all and then just stack the LEGOs when you want to take more than one with you. Wall decals are a great alternative to wallpaper as they don’t damage your walls when they’re removed and you can change them the moment you get tired of your handiwork with little effort. While there are a lot of wall decals out there, it’s harder to find simple modular shapes that can create modern patterns like the Removable Wall Patterns from the Salt Lake City-based MUR . Currently the company sells triangles (hooray!) in a small and large size, each available in eight colors. Use their gallery to figure out what pattern you want to go with and let your imagination go wild coming up with your very own color scheme.
