Deconstruction: Eau Good Water Bottle by Black + Blum

From their studio in the heart of London, Black + Blum designers Dan Black and Martin Blum create products for the home and office, combining ruthless practicality with an intellectually-satisfying design aesthetic meant to charm and entertain. In this month’s Deconstruction , the duo provides us with a detailed look into the development of the Eau Good water bottle , which incorporates active charcoal to purify the water. They told us, “We were aware that by creating a water bottle, we had a chance to combat the environmental impact that bottled water has on the planet. Over 22 billion plastic water bottles are discarded around the world every year.

Stack Easy Chair by Skrivo Design

The Stack easy chair and footstool by Milan-based Skrivo Design comes from the idea of having cushions in constant motion that look like they have been stacked randomly on top of each other. The chair was created by placing multicolored polyurethane upholstered cushions on a mild steel structure, which makes it seem haphazard and playful. Two tubular steel rods add additional aesthetic detail as well as structural support for the birch wood legs.

Get Out! Cloud Nine by Richard Frinier for Brown Jordan

It’s not every day that I get overly excited by outdoor furniture, but I love the Cloud Nine collection by Richard Frinier for Brown Jordan . In fact, all of his collections for Brown Jordan are pretty nice but I love this one in particular because of its simple curvy scoop detail. It’s very inviting.

Phillips Table by Curtis Popp

Curtis Popp’s new Phillips table explores penetration, an idea that some of his other work also looks at. This time, the table’s base and top meet but in the form of a cross. Named Phillips after the famed screwdriver head shape, the table top can be made in both powder-coated steel and wood.  I’d love to see it with a mint green base and a walnut top… Share This: Twitter | Facebook | Discover more great design by following Design Milk on Twitter and Facebook . © 2012 Design Milk | Posted by Jaime in Home Furnishings | Permalink | No comments

ECOO Chair by Fiore Arcangelo

I love the idea of the ECOO chair by designer Fiore Arcangelo : a chair that becomes a terrarium. A design where inanimate object meets growing living creature. Made of polycarbonate, the chair would allow the flow of air and light to help nurture what grows inside

Brad Ascalon Studio is launching a new shelving series called Element for Italian company FASEM at this year’s Salone in Milan. A modular system made of leather and glass, the bookshelves are perfect for both residential and contract markets. If you’re in Milan during the Salone del Mobile this April, visit FASEM’s exhibition at the Rho Fairgrounds, Hall 5, Stand G6.
