The Garden Party Table

garden-party

It’s time to start thinking outdoor parties, and I’ve got just what you need.  The Garden Party Table, designed by Alain Gilles, has both a cool look and a smart functional design.  Its center has a built-in cooler perfect for whatever it is you’re celebrating with.  What more do you need?!

The stools in the image are pretty cool too right?  Notice the hook under the seat, yup it’s for your purse! These come from Cedric Ragot

The Sony Fusion

laptop-coffee-table

Despite having a large empty desk and a room at home devoted entirely to being an office space, my laptop pretty much lives on my coffee table.  I’m not really sure why, it just always winds up this way –  probably has something to do with constantly multitasking.

Luckily someone at Sony must have been experiencing the same thing. The Sony Fusion is a coffee table with a built in laptop! A simple push of a button converts the table into a work station with a touch sensitive keyboard and adjustable screen.  It’s not available yet, but this brilliant concept is expected to be in production soon, in three different colors and around $3000.

Super Smart Kitchen Design

modular-kitchen2

Ok I know this is not a kitchen blog, but this design is so smart I just couldn’t pass up on sharing it with you. Called the Accordion Folding Cook Table, this modular counter is perfect for small kitchens. What I wouldn’t have given to have this in my first apartment!

The Accordion Folding Cool Table features triangle drawers the pop out from its folds, as well as sliding counter tops and additional drawers on each side. The drawer covers cane be rotated and used as prep boards!  When you’re done preparing the meal, simply pull up a few stools and you’re ready to go!  Simple but brilliant in my opinion. Stitch Pendant

stitch-pendant

DIY combines with an already fantastic pendant in the Stitch Pendant from LampGustaf.  This pendant light enables you to make your own design, which then easily integrates into it.  It comes with a starter kit, so even if you aren’t the craftiest you can still make your very own lighting.

Candelier

gummy-chandelier

I posted about Jellio awhile back, but their fun candy-inspired décor is always something worth sharing. Today I bring you the Candelier, a chandelier made from 5,000 hand strung acrylic gummy bears!  This absolutely amazing light is completely one-of-a-kind and only ten will even be made – due largely in part to the fact that it takes approximately 2 months to make each!

Amazing Tables from Jason Phillips

continuim-table

Came across this very talented designer, Jason Phillips, today and his Continuum Table, which seems to be getting plenty of attention. It’s easy to see why with a truly unique look. According to Philips, this table is inspired by models of the space-time-continuum and represents the folds of space and time in the universe.

When I went to his site, I was excited to plenty more designs equally as impressive. Shown here are the Blown Glass Legs Table and Gold Rims Drawers.  Fun and totally unique, yet practical too.  Very cool and very impressive.

Creator Tables

creator

With so many different style influences, the Creator Table is really one-of-a-kind.  These tables are the work of Magnus Sanglid, a furniture product designer with an entire website full of stuff worth checking out.

According to Sanglid this design is “a unique combination of mid-European cultural inheritance where ornaments have been the ruling style for furniture’s throughout the 19th century and tight Scandinavian design traditions from the 20th century.” Captivating and functional, these tables offer strong design definitely worth taking a closer look at here.

Roulade

roulade
The Roulade is my design find today, and I think it’s a really great one. In what I can best describe as Togo meets Chesterfield, this piece combines multiple styles and influences into one captivating and intriguing piece. It’s the work of Kilo Design, a Copenhagen based, idea-driven industrial design firm.

There’s not too much information available about the Roulade yet, but these images are enough to have me already wanting one (at least!) for myself.

Legos Make It To The Boardroom

boysgirls1

This table is the work of ABGC Architecture & Design for new ad agency Boys and Girls.  The design firm was asked to create something “playful but not juvenile” and this captivating table is the result.

boysgirls2

Legos are a definite wow factor in this office, if only for the reason of complete unexpectedness. This is certainly not your typical boardroom, but my guess is that it certainly isn’t hurting the creative process.  The pieces are covered with glass so there’s no building Lego castles during staff meetings, but nonetheless a pretty cool table.
