Home Office

Recently, I started working from home. And while I wish I could say that I have an adorable and inspiring home office space, the truth is that I work from my kitchen table, which resembles the image above. By the end of the day, my back is killing me!

So, I’ve been searching the Internet for inspiration on what I could bring into my home office. As soon as we finish the basement downstairs, I plan on setting myself up down there in a more comfortable and productive environment! While I was researching, I came across Fashion For Home, an awesome furniture store out of the UK, that lucky for me [and you!] has a US site as well.

So far, my favorite item on their site is the Klemmbrett Blue Table. Wouldn’t it be the perfect desk? Spacious, yet fun and stylish with that bright pop of blue! Pair it with a comfy [obviously!] office chair and some cute accessories, and I’ll be good to go.

If you’re in the mood for browsing some great furniture and home accessories, go have some fun at Fashion for Home! Me, I’ll be doing more home office planning instead of working! If you work from home – do you have an office or do you stick to the couch or kitchen table?!

Product Pick: Stellar Mirror & Console

As each week goes by, my love for mirrored furniture and anything slightly blinging grows stronger and stronger. This is again exemplified in this week’s product pick with the Stellar Mirror and the Stellar Console.

Designed by Jake Phipps, the Stellar Mirror is made of 750 sized and angled mirrored sections to create a radiant ring of a mirror. The Stellar Console has a seam of 900 similar angles. Each piece is limited to 25 editions per design.

I wouldn’t mind these pieces set up in my bedroom or my modern dining room for a glamourous set. How about you? What do you think of the Stellar Console and Mirror?

Ombre Wall: Love This Look?

From fashion to home decor, I haven’t totally been a fan of the ombre look. I do love it in hair though – have you seen that look? If not – google it. It really looks great on some people!

But anyway, we’re not talking hair today. We’re talking ombre walls. From P.S. I made this… comes this vibrant turquoise ombre wall. As I was saying, I haven’t really loved the look in accessories or outfits, but I’m really loving the look of this wall. It adds such a whimsical dynamic while still keeping it classy. Plus, the pop of turquoise isn’t overwhelming as it fades.

What do you think of this Ombre wall? Are you loving the look as I am or not feeling it?

Recipe Radar: The Best Dinner Ever

Happy Monday! Ready for an exciting week? Not me – I wish I was still in bed. Anyway, I thought that I had previously mentioned this recipe, because it truly is so amazing, but I couldn’t find it anywhere so I’m mentioned it here. In a recipe radar post all its own, because this recipe is that delicious. Seriously – you might want to make it tonight!

The recipe is Braised Pork Ragu with Pappardelle and it is from Dinner: A Love Story. If you haven’t been to that site, I highly suggest a browse through as well. They have great recipes that I make quite often. But this one is definitely my favorite. The reason I’m mentioning it today is because I made it last year for my fiance’s sister and her family and they all raved about it. Then she made it yesterday while we were all down the shore and everyone absolutely love it and I remembered how much I love it, too. It is a super easy recipe to make and the flavors will knock you off your feet.

Go try it and let me know how you like it! What is your favorite recipe to make that’s easy and amazingly delicious? Please share!!

Goat Cheese Guacamole

Would anyone agree with me when I saw that the Food Network’s Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives is the worst thing to watch if you’re even just a little bit hungry? If I put that show on, my mouth is immediately watering for something greasy and fattening.

This past Sunday, I put on the TV and sure enough, there was Guy Fieri at a restaurant in Cleveland that serves “mod mex.” They showed about six different types of guacamole, one of them with goat cheese, and I knew I had to try it. Since I’m a big fan of both – why not merge the two? So I did – and it was amazing. I would have taken my own photo, but my camera died, so I had to use the one above! Anyway, here’s the recipe:

Goat Cheese Guacamole

3 ripe avocadoes
1 small tomato, chopped
1 small red onion, chopped
1 large clove garlic, minced
4 ounces goat cheese
1 small pepper – I used habanero
Juice from one lime
Salt and pepper to taste

Mash avocadoes in bowl until smooth. Stir in tomato, onion, garlic, pepper and goat cheese, taking care to break up goat cheese evenly. Add lime juice, salt and pepper to taste and stir to mix. Serve and enjoy!

Have you tried guacamole with any fun additions?

Product Pick: Bell Lamp

I don’t know about you, here’s always a spot for a shiny, silvery light fixture in my home, over my dining table, please! I love anything with a little glitz and glam and sparkle, which is why I chose the beautiful Bell Lamp as this week’s Product Pick.

Designed by Italian furniture and lighting company Baxter, the Bell Lamp is a flexible fixture that can be displayed flat or with folded over, like a fun, fabulous hat. Fit for a fancy modern dining room, I would love to see the Bell Lamp over a solid wood dining table to dress up an every day look.

What do you think about the Bell Lamp? How do you picture it in your home or someone else’s?

Gold Walls: Love This Look?

As far as gold goes, I’m a sucker for it when it comes to costume jewelry and home accessories. I’d probably even go for a big gold dining table or headboard or something that made a bigger statement than the gold tray and the gold vase currently occupying space in my living room.

Something I had never even thought about until yesterday was gold walls. I mean it’s one thing to gold leaf a mirror or a picture frames – but what about the walls?! The thought seemed wild to me, but as I did some searching, I think I found a few good looks. However, I don’t think I love this look for a bedroom or living room, but perhaps for a smaller room, such as a powder room or closet. A powder room with gold leaf walls? Yes, please! And a glossy black toliet with a matching sink!

What do you think about gold walls? Do you love this look?

Lazy Days

It seems like I never have a free day to spend endless hours sunken into the couch watching lame television and reading crappy magazines and websites. Luckily, yesterday was free enough for me to do just that and it was absolutely wonderful.

Although my sofa isn’t as plush and cushiony as those above, it’s almost there. And I’m pretty sure that when we were looking at sofas, soft and plush was a main criteria with lazy days in mind. I wonder if that was the same idea for the designers/homeowners in the images above. Now that’s it’s Monday morning and time to get back into the grind, I’ll be daydreaming of my sofa and these here for the rest of the day!

How about you? Do you have a cushiony sofa that is perfect for lazy days or do you spend those days in a cushiony bed?!
