Do you ever come across an image of a space that is so good it stops you in your tracks? So good it makes you consider selling and getting rid of everything in a similar space in your home just so you can completely recreate the look for yourself?
Because that just happened to me. I mean, I love my living room, but I think I love this one more. That gold coffee table and the gold wall decor and the white sofa and the patterned rug – I just can’t. The lamps and the side tables and the pillows – please!!! I don’t know what it is about this room that is making me need it, but I’m going to go with the gold coffee table. It’s just fabulous.
Well anyway, enough of my rambling, has this ever happened to you? Have you ever acted on it and actually recreated the look for yourself?
And if anyone knows more about the room, let me know! I found it on Pinterest which led to a tumblr without any information.

The Panton Chair is an undoubtedly a classic piece, like a classic blazer or button down that can be worn many ways.
We’ve got this modern classic chair here in six different ways, starting with a large wooden table, as a side chair in a living room, around a sleek glass dining table, keeping it classic around a tulip table, as a desk chair and finally in a mini version in a kids room. Not all chairs can do that!
How would you style the versatile Panton Chair?

The Layer Sofa Collection is part of the Branca Collection by Portuguese designer Marco Sousa. With a sofa, loveseat, and ottoman available, the Layer collection is made from wood, steel and Kvadrat fabrics.
A unique take on the typical look of a sofa, the additional layer of cushions adds a whimsically chic style to the pieces. My favorites are the colorful pieces, as the gradient effect adds even more sleek style to it!
What do you think of the Layer Sofa collection?

Digging for a gold lamp, that is.
As I was searching for images for this post, I realized I have a serious addiction to gold lamps. There’s nothing wrong with that right? Guess that just means I need to put one in my home so I can stop continually blogging about them!
Anyway, I saw the first gold lamp on Bravo’s Interior Therapy with Jeff Lewis. Do you watch that show? Last week was the first time I’ve tuned in and I wouldn’t mind watching it again this week. I’ve been dreaming about that lamp since I first saw it and I can’t find it anywhere. Except in that second image. I thought perhaps Bravo would have it sourced on their site, but I didn’t see anything.
Finally, I found the third lamp, a very similar style, on a Danish website which then led me to an US site. (Which told me that the lamp is over $2,000! Total bummer.) After that, I gave up my search and started looking for glossy gold spray paints to create my own version of this lamp.
My question is – what do you do in situations like this? Have you ever searched high and low for something you’ve seen on television or another outlet? It seems that with the Internet finding such things can be pretty attainable, but what happens when you don’t find what you’re looking for that easily or affordably? Do you then DIY it?
I’d love to hear your thoughts!

There are several pros and cons to open shelving. To me, the most important pro is the way they open room with the most important con being the necessity to stay organized. Which is only a con if you are bothered by those kind of things – which I am!
They’re much easier and affordable to install if you’re looking for a change, and open shelving provides endless ways to style your dishes and accessories and to also add colors and textures to your kitchen. And if having shelving that’s all the way open is too much for you, you can add sliding glass doors or something similar, as in the last image above!
So, what are your thoughts on open shelving in the kitchen? Do you love this look?

My fiancé is big time into watches. A few years ago, it was really bad. He would watch ShopNBC almost every night and order new watches all the time. In addition to all of those, he has a few nicer watches, but for our wedding I’d love to get him a really, really nice watch. Probably the most well-known online watch retailer, Chrono24, stocks nearly 100,000 watches ranging from a couple hundred dollars all the way up to $1m and more. I don’t know if I could ever afford one of those pricey ones, but you never know right?
Just check out some of these expensive Panerai watches to see what I’d really love to get him. (And don’t worry if my fiancé sees this – our wedding is over a year away, so he will definitely forget about this post by then!)
Oh and yes, you saw right. That’s $970,000 for the most expensive ‘listed’ Panerai watch! (Anything priced at over $1m is only available on request.) More realistically, second hand watches can be considerably cheaper though, just in case you (like me) don’t have a cool $1m to spend.
As we all know, fashion takes many forms, and for all those wanting something a little retro, you can buy original military watches for a reasonable price. By original military watches, it literally means a watch that somebody wore when fighting a war! How cool is that?
I don’t know about you, but I do consider a watch to be a fashion accessory as well as a collector’s item. But when I do spend a small fortune on buying the perfect one – you can bet I’m going to make sure my fiancé doesn’t drop it in this!”
If you’re married or getting married soon, what have you given or what are you giving your spouse as a wedding gift?

It’s kind of a given that warm weather makes one dream of outdoor activities. While it’s always fun and stimulating to go for a hike or a nice long walk, it’s often just as nice to be a little bit lazy and lounge on a picnic blanket.
For my perfect picnic, I imagine a flowery blanket with a traditional brown wicker picnic basket. Some red wine, crusty bread and smooth cheese to snack on, along with some fresh homemade blueberry muffins for something sweet. If only the weather would warm up a bit!
How do you envision your perfect picnic?

In looking for animal heads on Pinterest for all of the different ways they can be incorporated into home decor, I didn’t realize that I had found six – quite appropriate, though, isn’t it?
Anyway, it seems that faux animal heads are in trend right now, and I wanted to see all the ways they’ve been featured. So here we go!
Starting with a flat animal head, we move on to a cluster of wicker animal heads, which is then followed by a colorful animal head and a paper mache animal head, then rounded out with stuffed animal heads and a mirrored animal head.
If you were going to hop on the animal head bandwagon, which way would you go? Me? I’d go mirrored all the way!
