Although the weather hasn’t been the warmest this week in NJ [lots of rain] – hopefully the upcoming holiday weekend will bring some scorchers. Along with the hotness comes the craving for something cool and refreshing – like the minty freshness above.
Have you taken part in the mint trend? I bought myself a mint sweater for Spring a few months back and it definitely added some freshness to my wardrobe. It’s just such a creamy yet refreshing color. I certainly wouldn’t mind a spunky mint kitchen like the one above – how about you?
What are your current mint cravings? [This post has made me want some mint chocolate chip ice cream, that's for sure!]

With Memorial Day weekend just a few days away, warm weather and hanging out outdoors is on my mind. We have this horrible green canopy thing in our backyard that looks like it was built in the 70s and I’m dying to dress it up. While plans of tearing it out and replacing it with something more modern is in the [hopefully near] future, until then I’m planning to adorn it with some fun outdoor string lights to add a nicer look to it. If you happen to be on a similar search, I’ve rounded up six different outdoor string lights to help us all out!
Do you have outdoor string lights in your backyard? What type of lights are your faves?
String Lights: 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 /6
Also – congrats to Brittany, who was the winner of the Canvas Print Giveaway! She was comment 38 out of 164 comments. Thank you to all that entered!

Maybe it’s the dreary weather in the NYC area, or maybe it’s all the talk of the 50 Shades of Grey books, but I’ve got greys on the brain today. Greys and only greys, it seems!
Most of these monochromatic rooms have a few pops of color here and there, but for the most part – they’re all shades of grey. As long as I have some color here and there, along with a bit of white, I think I could make it in a room like this. In fact, my own bedroom has a ton of grey and its one of my favorite rooms.
So, tell us – do you love this look? Would you be able to live in a room like this or would it make you feel too dreary?

It’s been almost two months since our last So Pinteresting post – where has the time gone? Seriously, though – I cannot believe it’s almost Memorial Day. Is there anyone who feels like time isn’t flying? Unless it’s in reference to a work day – I can’t say that I’ve ever heard someone say the opposite of time flying by!
Anyway, back to that Pinteresting post we’re doing here. I noticed that I’ve been pinning a lot of sparkling gems and geodes the past few days. Perhaps its a sign that it’s time for me to bring some gems & geodes into my home – I think that tealight holder would be perfect!
What about you – have you noticed any patterns in your pins lately?

As I’m in the market for some outdoor lounge chairs for my own home, I’m not sure if any of these are as practical as I need them to be. But what’s wrong with a little day-dreaming?
Perhaps the second lounge chair shown above isn’t so impractical – in fact with that in my backyard, I wouldn’t even have to go inside to sleep at night! That lounge chair is definitely calling my name the loudest – it’s important to be extra cozy while lounging by the pool, right? Right!
Which of these modern lounge chairs do you see yourself on?

Does anyone remember the Shoes video from like five years ago? It’s a bizarre video, but the ways they say “shoes” is how I said the title of this post in my head. It seems like the way that video stuck with me is comparable to the way shoe obsessions stick with women – and some men, too – forever.
Personally, I love shoes because I know no matter how much weight I ever gain and lose, I’ll always have my shoes! (Nice rhyme, huh?) However, it’s unlikely that I’ll ever be able to fill a closet like those shown above, but a girl can dream, right? Right.
These days it’s important for me to find cute comfortable shoes, but at a reasonable price. (That way I can buy more!) I was recently turned onto Zalando, a UK-based site that offers a ton of shoes and other apparel and accessories. No matter what you’re looking for, you’ll find loads of great shoes, clothes and even beauty products on zalando.co.uk.
I’m always sending you to the best sites for modern furniture and recipes – so I thought why not go for some shoes?! Where are your go-to shopping sites for shoes?

TGIF!!! Any plans for the weekend? Hopefully the weather forecast is looking lovely in your neck of the woods.
Here’s six things I’ve enjoyed this week:
1) This all mint living room. Would you do it?
2) A little neon makes everything better.
3) Suddenly obsessed with quinoa and scouting out different recipes. What’s your fave?
4) Traditional and modern unite in this acrylic dining table.
5) If you have a pooch, would it hang out in this modern dog house?
6) Show the love in your home with the Love Collection by Joel Escalona.
Happy weekend! What have you found this week? Share in the comments!

Sofa searching is like soul searching. [Or soul mate searching.] It’s really tough to find the perfect one!
Anywa, I may or may not have mentioned the mess of a basement I have due to Hurricane Irene’s visit in August of last year. We had just moved in in July and the finished basement was a major plus – until the hurricane hit and we had to rip up the floors, cut up some sheet rock and treat it for black mold. Gross!
I’m mentioning the basement now because we’re finally having someone come in to work on it – which means time to plan for new furniture! Specifically a sofa, because that’s what will be the most important down there. There are tons of furniture stores NYC and NJ, but since I probably won’t venture out, I luckily found a really great site, Comfyco.com, that will deliver to my home for free. Free delivery on a sofa? Yes, please!
Plus, they carry Coaster Furniture, which is perfect for what we’re planning for – stylish but extremely affordable. Since it’s just the two of us, the basement isn’t a place that we’ll use all that often, but I am thinking that I want a nice spacious sofa, maybe even a sofa bed, for when we have extra guests. (So they don’t have to sleep on my good sofa!)
I’ve still got a while to browse, as they are just about to start fixing up the sheet rock, but the last time I purchased a sofa, it was a long process. Although, I am really liking those modern sofa beds that look like a normal sofa by day and then flatten out by pushing the back down by night. Do you have any sofa recommendations? Sleeper sofas?
