Recipe Radar: Cleansing & Detox Soups

Now that we’re in between Thanksgiving and Christmas, the eating and the drinking and all of the festivities are officially underway. And if you travel over the holidays as I usually do, it is even worse because it’s more than just one day that involves all the food and drink. Plus, the planes and the public transport can really bring you down. Which is how I’m feeling now that I just got back from a trip full of wine and cheese and bread and sneezing and coughing passengers all around.

So whether you’re feeling the aftermath of all the food or the aftermath of all the travel, or both, we’ve got some delicious detoxing and cleansing soups to keep on your recipe radar. Not only am I coughing my face off, but my jeans feel tight so I need something full of warmth and healthy veggies.

Here’s what we’ve found:

Super Detox Broccoli Soup from RealEpicurean [image above]

Mulligatawny Detox Soup from Gluten-Free Goddess

Cleansing Ginger-Chicken Soup from Bon Appetit

Detox Soup from Chez Us

The Original Cabbage Soup Diet from Food.com

I included that Cabbage Soup Diet because I’ve heard people rave about it – I wouldn’t do it as a diet – I’d just like to try it!

What soups do you make to give yourself a boost?

Monocomplex even created a special edition Lean Bookshelf for the 2012 F/W season show windows of G.D.S in WEST, the Galleria Department Store’s luxury hall. Working with MADVICTOR, an Asian graffiti artist team, they created “Just a Vibe” – an artistic bookshelf for the clothing and window display: Share This: Twitter | Facebook | Discover more great design by following Design Milk on Twitter and Facebook . © 2012 Design Milk | Posted by Jaime Derringer in Home Furnishings | Permalink | No comments

AlessiLux Portable Table Luminaire Collection by Alessi

Alessi partnered with a few designers to create the new AlessiLux Portable Table Luminaire Collection . The line, which was developed in collaboration with LED lighting company Foreverlamp , consists of four cordless lamps that can be used for everything from emergency lighting to camping, or even an extra light by your bed. They utilize energy saving LED bulbs mounted on a lamp base that houses a powerful rechargeable battery. Each lamp has a dimmer and when powered on high, the battery lasts a full 10 hours and if used on a dimmed setting, it can last for days. The Lumiere Flame (first image also) was designed by Giovanni Alessi Anghini and Gabriele Chiave and gives the feel of those old candles with its glowing bulb

Using a black or white paper wine box to form the structure and to hide the clock fittings, the working clock is like a miniature grandfather clock. Long and narrow, the portable device makes telling time super easy. It comes in either the single version or a dual version so that you can keep track of two different time zones
