Launched at the Stockholm Furniture Fair , this table facilitates communication and playfulness with its users. Designer Tianyu Xiao asks “How can a piece of furniture make people more communicative?” Writable is a table that helps people communicate more easily through the use of three panels on the surface that flip to reveal chalkboards. A playful yet useful way to get people interacting with the table and each other, and a great idea for kids. Tianyu Xiao says, “It offers possibilities for different kinds of people to use it in a way that suits them; especially those who are not good at communicating with other people face to face. Meanwhile, the marks and doodles can be seen as a symbol of their particular lives.” Writable was part of the exhibition The Collector , which features the work of graduate students at the HDK School of Design and Crafts
