Materials: OMAR shelves, wine rack, basket Description: We need a raised feeding station for our younger cat’s food to be separated from the older cat’s food. With little extra space in the kitchen, I thought that it would be nice to have the furniture serve more than one purpose. That’s when I got the idea to stack the OMAR wine shelves over a set of plain shelves

Artist and designer Reima Honkasalo created this sculptural light from recycled and disposed material called Light Mincer. The only part that is new is actually the light bulb. Reima explains that with this design he was asking “What is the lamp producing — except light? New from BuroJET , these Expresso espresso cups are molded from a 3D print. The design is created in a computer drawing and then printed through a laser technique in a 3D model, and the molds are made. The shape of these cups is derived from old Dutch handmade cups that were shaped round at the bottom and triangular at the rim, allowing good stirring and drinking

Erik and Eric tipped me on this Flamma hack by Helmut Smit, an artist/designer. I’m still iffy on it because it’s either a very expensive way to keep warm or a brilliant demo on how we can survive when we really need to by gutting our beloved Ikea furniture. You be the jury. Dik Scheepers graduated in July from the Academie Beeldende Kunsten Maatsricht , where he created a project called Pieces of Π (Pi) and is made from porcelain and ceramic glaze. I love the imperfections and the fact that each piece looks like folded paper.
