Materials: “RAST”, wood placemat, meter tape, pencil, jigsaw, some scissors and a big mug Description: I was looking for a vanity unit but at first everything was too deep and cost too much money. As RAST height and depth (70×62 cm) and price (29 € ) were quite what I was looking for I decided to hack it. To do this you’ll have to buy a RAST chest of drawers and a wooden placemat and you’ll need to use a precision saw, a jigsaw would be a lot better tho. 1: Build your RAST without putting the back side, and without the drawers inside (built them separately). Everyone has special possessions or treasures that they hold onto in hopes of eventually passing them down to others in the family. Nikki George Ferguson explores people’s emotional holds on certain mementos in what she calls The Heirloom . After doing research, it led her to ask, “Can you encourage people to make an attachment to objects?” In The Heirloom, the sentimental object is put on display in a glass jar for people to appreciate. There is a spot for people to then record their thoughts or memories of the object that can then be passed down for others of later generations to hear. It, in turn, becomes a meaningful piece and a symbol of family members that have passed.
