A few months ago, I made a series of DIY wall art for the wall above the sofa in our living room. As soon as we put them up, I started kicking myself for not putting in a floating shelf and balancing the pieces against them.
After these images, I’m kicking myself even harder! The first one is my favorite, with the grey walls and all the different size frames and colors. However, I do love the black and white theme and staggered shelves in the second. And the combination of frames with the initials and boxes in the third.
Maybe I’ll grab a shelf at IKEA and replicate this look over the next week or so. Have any of you done something like this in your home lately? I’d love to hear!

&Tradition ‘s Victor Vetterlein -designed Trash Me Lamp is created from the paper pulp of 4-paper egg cartons that are spread over a mold and left to dry. The concept word behind the piece is “transient,” in that people’s attention and interest in things is somewhat brief. The lamp can be taken apart quickly and then recycled into something new once it is no longer desired. Believe it or not, these jaunty, no handle Contrast Mugs are from the classic Danish china company, Royal Copenhagen . Designed by H.C. Giedde, the porcelain pieces, which have pleasing ridges like a ramekin, come sheathed in a brightly colored silicone sleeve that helps prevents slippage and protects fingers from the heat. The company actually gifted one to us (forest green, thank you very much) on Design Milk’s recent press trip to Copenhagen, and we’ve been using it daily. The verdict

Materials: Boksel sofa table, USB-powered case fans, electric drill and large bits, furniture stain, screws and bolts, furniture feet Description: For a long time I've wanted to replace my old IKEA media center cabinet. Multiple times I've lingered in the Besta section but just couldn't imagine a solution that I liked. Last weekend we found the Boksel sofa table in the as-is section, which met almost all of my desires, but needed a few adjustments.

I know today’s recipe radar is a tad specific – but I made those Spanakopita Bites above for New Year’s, so I’ve been looking for delicious appetizers to use up the leftover phyllo dough!
So these are what I found: Goat Cheese Purses, Veggie Pockets, and Baked Brie.
The spanakopita bites were awesome – and they were super easy to make. However, I only had a regular muffin tray and they were on the larger side, so I would definitely recommend the mini muffin trays instead.
