Wallpaper has gone to a whole new level. Rollout’s Qrious wallpaper features a series of QR codes, each of which when scanned by your phone takes you to a different website at which you can find a daily dose of inspiration. We posted about Joseph Joseph’s Index cutting board back in 2008, and now they have an updated version called Index Plus that also comes with four matching knives, also color coded to match your index card-shaped chopping boards. Joseph Joseph also has some other clever, dishwasher-safe kitchen items worth noting: Chop2Pot This innovative chopping board uses the latest and smartest technology in polypropylene “living” hinges.

Unlike the good ol’ schooldays, you won’t get in trouble for having these Paper Planes. Designed by Nipa Doshi and Jonathon Levien of Doshi Levian for Moroso, Paper Planes are paper-like seating arrangements made from a sturdy steel frame. The fun and colorful striped covers are removable for easy washing.
With a low armchair and a high armchair, there are plenty of options for the Paper Planes. As paper planes made from paper can be folded into different uses, each of these Paper Planes can be situated differently to offer several seating options.
For more information on Paper Planes, check them out on Moroso’s website.

Tua , designed by Marco Zito, is the newest addition to Foscarini’s 2010 collection. The design of Tua is inspired by the palm of the hand containing a light: a reassuring pose transformed into a single, shaped metal plane that becomes both the support and screen for the lamp. I like the gentle bend and elegant rounded details. Hidden in the fold lies a soft light source, which is reflected off of the underside surface of the bent material. Tua would be a nice addition to a nightstand or work surface.

Silversmith and jewelry-maker Maya Selway has created a selection of beautifully made ethereal silver objects, all produced using ethically sourced precious metals. Maya’s new collection is influenced by both Japanese ceramics and lacquerware and features subtle decorative effects such as the free-hand sprinkling of gold and silver. Maya’s collection will be on exhibit at the Origin: The London Craft Fair , which will take place September 23-29th during this year’s London Design Festival . © 2010 Design Milk | Posted by Jaime in Home Furnishings | Permalink | No comments | Tweet This | Share on Facebook

Laurette is a playful collection of vintage-inspired furniture for children, designed by Laure Bailleux. It is colorful and imaginative, definitely creative enough to stimulate and inspire children (and adults!). The website is currently only in French, but they just started sending press materials in English so I have hopes that they will soon launch an English-translated site. © 2010 Design Milk | Posted by Jaime in Home Furnishings | Permalink | No comments | Tweet This | Share on Facebook

Kusamono , “The Accent Lamp” by Paris-based designer Florent Coirier , is a light that uses horticultural lighting. It blurs the line between domestic environment and natural life — linking both human and plant. © 2010 Design Milk | Posted by Jaime in Home Furnishings | Permalink | No comments | Tweet This | Share on Facebook
