The Urban Logs Collection is the latest line of limited-edition furniture from Ilan Dei Studio . Focusing on “urban renewal” each piece gives new life to urban and suburban trees that have been removed and are destined to become waste or firewood. Each log has a different shape, texture, and story which adds a history and brings some uniqueness to each piece. This natural individuality is contrasted by the simple, yet industrial elements of safety orange (love!) tube, orange upholstery and smoky copper-tinted mirrors. The designers were inspired to create this collection after seeing beautiful pieces of unused logs lying around the neighborhoods surrounding the studio in Venice, CA

CTRLZAK will be presenting CeramiX at Milan Design Week 2010, a project that explores the key elements in the creation of Chinese and European ceramics. During the first phase of the project, original ceramic pieces of both origins were chosen, sliced in half, and put together so that East meets West.

Godspeed , they crack me up. Here are some new pieces, called “How to Get Famous.” In the designers’ words: As a comment on Maarten Baas’s Smoke and Jens Fager’s Raw, both excellent works, we like to add this piece to the furniture world. It is a paraphrase on a paraphrase, pointing out our incapability to come up with something new, literary going through the dumpsters in order to be able to invent something not already seen.
