Holly Wick opened her eponymous shop, Holly’s House exactly one year ago, motivated by the desire to bring fresh, new design to West London. Wick, who also runs an interior design consultancy, stocks heaps of fantastic items from established brands, including Moooi and Diamantini & Dominiconi, alongside indie talent from the likes of Phoebe Richardson and Andy Macgregor. Let’s celebrate Wick’s first year of success with a Design Store(y) so we can learn (and see) more. What motivated you to open the store? In recent years there has been a surge of exciting design shops opening in East London.

Even if you’re having a small Thanksgiving get-together, placing menu cards at each setting adds a nice formal touch. You may remember from Friday’s Weekly Six, some free Thanksgiving printables were included in the link list. That list, however, didn’t include any menu cards, so that’s what today is all about!
It really is nice that those with graphic design skills offer such adorable printables for free to everyone throughout the Internet. The first menu above is from Sarah Hearts, who has a ton of free printables on her website – and they all coordinate so you can have a fabulous suite right at your fingertips. For nothing but the cost of paper and ink!
The second menu comes from Brooklyn Limestone, who also graciously offers a variety of free printables throughout her website.
Will you be using printables to dress up your Thanksgiving table? You still have a couple days to put it together!

Dutch designer Ka-Lai Chan ‘s latest work, the Gradient cabinet, holds things you want to display while also being a piece of art in itself. Cords made from polyester-covered natural latex are wound around the metal frame and become closer together the higher they go, making the objects that are on display partially hidden.

3 – Simi Chardonnay
4 – Louis M. Martini Cabernet
5 – Decoy Red Blend
6 – Mark West Pinot Noir
What are your favorite wines to serve or bring as host/hostess gifts??

Partnerships happen everyday in the design world and when it’s between a brilliant housewares company and one innovative designer, you have yourself a match made in design heaven. This happens to be the case when the New York-based Icelandic designer Hlynur Atlason recently teamed up with Umbra to create two new kitchen designs – Bento and Tricon . Bento is more than just a cutting board – It’s a cutting board plus measuring cup/storage system. The board acts as a lid to the set of five measuring cups that settle in underneath. Perfect for prepping early and cooking later

Artist Michelle Weinberg’s paintings are pretty darn awesome, but it’s her rug designs that made me do a double take. Here are some of her recent paintings: Courtyard Folded Kiosk In The Planetarium Prefab 2 And some rugs: Photo: Stephan Goettlicher Photo: Teodora Dakova And she even makes tiles: Share This: Twitter | Facebook | Discover more great design by following Design Milk on Twitter and Facebook . © 2012 Design Milk | Posted by Jaime Derringer in Art , Home Furnishings | Permalink | No comments

This Extension Table by Vidame Creation is a pretty cool concept. It looks like an ordinary table, but it’s made of small slats of wood (or Corian) that open up and close through a mechanism that turns the individual pieces on their sides to expand the tabletop – like pushing over a row of dominoes.

For this week’s installment of CMYLK , we’ve done something a little different. Instead of artwork and rooms, we’ve created Colourlovers palettes for four rugs from Spartanburg, South Carolina-based floor covering company Milliken . These abstract designs are works of art in and of themselves.
