Recently, I started working from home. And while I wish I could say that I have an adorable and inspiring home office space, the truth is that I work from my kitchen table, which resembles the image above. By the end of the day, my back is killing me!
So, I’ve been searching the Internet for inspiration on what I could bring into my home office. As soon as we finish the basement downstairs, I plan on setting myself up down there in a more comfortable and productive environment! While I was researching, I came across Fashion For Home, an awesome furniture store out of the UK, that lucky for me [and you!] has a US site as well.
So far, my favorite item on their site is the Klemmbrett Blue Table. Wouldn’t it be the perfect desk? Spacious, yet fun and stylish with that bright pop of blue! Pair it with a comfy [obviously!] office chair and some cute accessories, and I’ll be good to go.
If you’re in the mood for browsing some great furniture and home accessories, go have some fun at Fashion for Home! Me, I’ll be doing more home office planning instead of working! If you work from home – do you have an office or do you stick to the couch or kitchen table?!

Snapp Design’s new Orbit stool takes the need for movement and the need for sitting and combines them. Being seated and still able to move about is a notion that at first seem at odds with each other but once you sit in the Orbit stool, it seems to make sense. The light movement from side to side, back to front, or all around makes it easy to sit, be comfortable and yet fidget to your heart’s content

From fashion to home decor, I haven’t totally been a fan of the ombre look. I do love it in hair though – have you seen that look? If not – google it. It really looks great on some people!
But anyway, we’re not talking hair today. We’re talking ombre walls. From P.S. I made this… comes this vibrant turquoise ombre wall. As I was saying, I haven’t really loved the look in accessories or outfits, but I’m really loving the look of this wall. It adds such a whimsical dynamic while still keeping it classy. Plus, the pop of turquoise isn’t overwhelming as it fades.
What do you think of this Ombre wall? Are you loving the look as I am or not feeling it?

Czech design student Anna Štepánková took inspiration from a traditional Japanese technique that began with a company called, Bunaco . The company created a way of tightly coiling ribbons of thin beech wood veneer that are then pushed out to establish the shapes you want. Štepánková explored ways to bridge this handmade technique with modern design and she did just that with the Tamashii Chair . The texture that comes from the rings and the color variations truly makes the chair unique and beautiful. According to the designer: My intention was to give own story and energy to this piece of furniture, which I believe is highly important for a product to have.

For this month’s Where I Work , we’re back in New York, at Hellman Chang’s studio in the industrial cool neighborhood of Bushwick in Brooklyn. Here, we get an insider view of how design duo (and childhood friends) Daniel Hellman and Eric Chang go about creating their award-winning furniture—using tools that range from old-time hand saws to custom iPad apps. With an 11,000-square-foot-studio that includes some serious machinery, they’ve come a long way from the days when they taught themselves how to build furniture in their parents’ garage. Do you set aside quiet time each day to do the actual designing? Dan : I wish it were that organized. We’re very much growing the biz, so the bulk of our time is devoted to that

Happy Monday! Ready for an exciting week? Not me – I wish I was still in bed. Anyway, I thought that I had previously mentioned this recipe, because it truly is so amazing, but I couldn’t find it anywhere so I’m mentioned it here. In a recipe radar post all its own, because this recipe is that delicious. Seriously – you might want to make it tonight!
The recipe is Braised Pork Ragu with Pappardelle and it is from Dinner: A Love Story. If you haven’t been to that site, I highly suggest a browse through as well. They have great recipes that I make quite often. But this one is definitely my favorite. The reason I’m mentioning it today is because I made it last year for my fiance’s sister and her family and they all raved about it. Then she made it yesterday while we were all down the shore and everyone absolutely love it and I remembered how much I love it, too. It is a super easy recipe to make and the flavors will knock you off your feet.
Go try it and let me know how you like it! What is your favorite recipe to make that’s easy and amazingly delicious? Please share!!
