Calici Caratteriali is a series of experimental wine glasses that Gumdesign created for the Abitami show during the Macef home show in Milan this month. These are some seriously cool wine glasses. I particularly like the one with the spout. Share This: Twitter | Facebook | Discover more great design by following Design Milk on Twitter and Facebook .

Young Belgian designer Pieter Desmijter has created a table for math lovers. Reminiscent of the square root sign, the table features a cubby perfect for storing magazines. While the table looks hard, it’s actually coated in foam so you can comfortable sit on it, too.

Steel Stool is a minimalist prototype created by London- and Avignon-based Noon Studio . The studio was created by two designers, Gautier Pelegrin and Vincent Taïani, about five years ago Materially speaking, Steel Stool is as simple as it looks. The wooden Y-frame is supported by a thing sheet of steel, and measures a cube of 350×350x350mm. The stools can be assembled together to create an interestingly modular storage system

With his sister My, Thien Ta Trung, founded Periphere 10 years ago in Montreal. Together, they set out to create a unique furniture company that offers locally produced cutting-edge designs; something almost non-existent in the Canadian landscape. Experimentation and the use of distinct materials and production techniques were and are still the foundation of the design philosophy behind the studio. Over the years, Thien has worked and experimented with injection moulding, fiber glass, laser cutting, concrete moulding, Corian, and blown glass, amongst other materials

Pia Wüstenberg will be showing her Stacking Vessels at the London Design Festival later this month. Made of three different types of material, these vases are a nice harmony of color and texture. I especially like the unfinished look of the wooden tops.
