I spotted these Reclaimed Horseshoe Chairs by Bruce White over on AHAlife a few days ago and I couldn’t stop thinking about them. Each and every piece Bruce makes is lovingly welded and sculpted by hand — from horseshoes with a history. He explains to AHAlife that he lays out all the shoes and hand selects them for each section of the chair. He also does a “fit test” to make sure the chair is comfortable. The final chair is powder-coated before it is ready for its new owner.

The Makil stackable chair designed by Patrick Norguet for the French editor Alki was recently presented at the Maison & Objet. Made of oak, its simplicity and carefully curved design feels delicate yet sturdy. I almost see a little nod to Hans Wegner’s Wishbone… Discover more great design by following Design Milk on Twitter and Facebook ! © 2011 Design Milk | Posted by Jaime in Home Furnishings | Permalink | No comments | Tweet This | Share on Facebook

Although it may sound like it has something to do with taking money out of the bank, Drahtbank actually means “wire-bench.”
Designed by Johanna Dehio, the Drahtbank series consists of several metal frames of stools, tables and chairs in a variety of colors. Once the metal frames are chosen, they are matched with the user or designer’s preferred material of wood – planks, boards, old wooden panels – as seen above.
They are put together to get this:

The selection of wood materials plus the various metal shapes and colors allow for a plethora of possibilities, especially when the owner / user of the piece is involved.
Drahtbank’s designer, Johanna Dehio is a Berlin-based product designer.

This stool designed by Christopher Kurtz has tube-like hollow legs that look as though they were created from the stool’s seat being pulled downwards. Looks like a cute little button from the top! Go nuts for DoNuts!
An inflatable table and seating arrangement, DoNuts can be used by the pool, at an outdoor restaurant, at a hotel or in the privacy of your backyard.
The inflatable seating, which looks like a giant donut – hence the name, is available in several different colors. It is made from nylon and can sit at least six people. The table top is made from polyester and can be purchased without the seating.

Although DoNuts looks like it could be used on the water, it is safe on land only.
DoNuts is created by Dirk Wynants, founder and main designer of Extremis. For more information, take a look at their website: http://www.extremis.be.

Piodão Group is has launched a brand new collection of rugs called Prêt-à-Porter that are just as exciting and colorful as their previous pieces . The “Any” rug, designed by Pedro & Rita Ferreira (Pedrita Studio – Lisbon, Portugal) follow the traditional Portuguese multicolor crochet hot-cloth’s where no threat is wasted and is truly a statement of sustainability. Following the brand’s philosophy, the wool left over from the factory’s regular production is re-rolled and reintroduced into the manufacturing process minimizing waste and environmental impact. The resulting material is then utilized to create a one-of-a-kind “Any” with a strong visual character reflecting the factory weekly production.
