This modern lounge chair by Alvar Aalto for Artek was originally designed for tuberculosis patients to sit in for long hours every day. The chair’s back is angled so that the patient can breathe most easily. Fashion4Home launched in Germany in November last year, and integrates social networking and social shopping. New designs are released and comments/feedback is collected to help launch new prototypes and products.

Frank Winnubst took a different approach to creating his Springtime chair by using springs to create comfort for the sitter. Each extravagant pool table is custom made and professionally installed. Prices begin at $6500, which is pretty steep but if you have it, this has to be among the coolest ways to spend it (if you already have this awesome pool of course).

Can you believe that the round, clear pieces you see on this pendant lamp by Gülnur Özdaglar are actually made out of used soda bottles?
