I found these candleholders on MocoLoco, and unfortunately they’re just a preview of what will be showcased by Gaia & Gino at Maison & Objet in Paris this month. I say unfortunately because I want to see more!
These beautiful candleholders are Double Herkimer Candleholders, by Arik Levy, which are made from the Herkimer crystal, a clear quartz found in Herkimer County, NY. I didn’t even know such a crystal existed, did you?
Either way, I’ll be keeping my eyes out for these candleholders – and the rest of the collections from Gaia & Gino, which includes new pieces from Karim Rashid and more. What do you think of these Herkimer Candleholders?

Reminder is the name of a dresser designed by Kazuaki Hibino that attempts to address the problems of memory. Sometimes finding the things we need in drawers can be problematic, even when we think we know what is in each drawer. This unit has specially-shaped drawers that play a memory game of sorts… the shapes define the content of the drawers and you make an association of that shape with its contents. According to the store, it was a world wide recall. We had already decided we wanted something more than 60cm deep, which w as how we decided on the VIKA AMON table top (75cm deep).

You may remember when we featured Zbigniew Strzebonski’s Loft Chair back in 2011. Well now the MODESTWORK designer is back with a new collection called Loft evo’ , which includes a chair, a coffee table, and side table. Made from bent steel bars, the collection features simple, skinny lines that are formed and shaped in unusual and curvy ways. Learning from the original Loft chair, the manufacturing process has been simplified making the furniture more accessible.
