This coffee table named Disco-Volante by Simon Colabufalo debuted at DesignEX 2012 in Sydney. It reminds me a bit of Thomas Wold’s Mushroom table , but with a more space-age-meets-disco-feverish vibe. This Hosu lounge chair was inspired by the thought of working in a comfortable, personal space that’s easy to relax and get things done in. Designed by Patricia Urquiola for Coalesse , the single chair is available with a convertible cushion that folds out to prop your feet up on or as a fixed chair. It comes with storage pockets on the sides and back to house your remote or book (or SNACKS). This chair makes me want to move my work from the desk to this so that I can spread out and get comfortable while I work

CMYLK: Modern Furnishings in Sunset Hues

We spotted the work of Al-Hamad Design at ICFF this year and really loved the unique approach they have with their designs. They definitely think outside the box with innovative (and sometimes quirky) twists on furniture design making each of their pieces memorable. Here are some of our favorites: Little Oyster is a side table that converts to a chair by lifting the tabletop up.

Diamond is a series of lamps each with 12 facets by Sebastian Scherer that play a game of reflections. The hexagon-shaped lamps are available in chrome, copper, white and black but just one size. However, they seem to appear to vary in size depending on the angle from which you view.

Hope you had a nice holiday week and an even nicer weekend ahead. I apologize for the lack of a Weekly Six post today, but I’m having major Internet issues. However, I spotted this gorgeous home tour on Apartment Therapy yesterday and thought I’d share a few images. Isn’t that pale pink room absolute heaven? I am dying over those curtains. The contrast of the dark grey is equally appealing.

Laredo Mocha Bi-Cast Leather Modern Chair w/Optional Ottoman

Inspired by the willow tree with its compact trunk, Willow , by Louise Hederström for Nola , is a planter with multiple uses. The planter has openings coming out of its base that simulate branches in which you can grow a variety of plants. The opening at the top can either hold more plants or a wooden disc that could be used as a side table or to turn Willow into an extra seating. I like how you can have your fill of nature in any city setting, even a small balcony or patio.
