Francis Jens Spitta

I discovered Francis Jens Spitta ‘s work on Pattern Pulp . In his pillow patterns, he takes inspiration from his own life – he says, “I’ve taken the iconic images of my life and I’ve twisted them around a bit.  Those stunning delicate handkerchiefs in my grandmother’s top drawer? Pillows. The batiks I wore in seventh grade?

SleepBox

SleepBox is a contemporary and organic piece of furniture made from HI-MACS® material. Resembling a giant chaise lounge, the seat has an interior cutout with a leather cushion, which would make a great place to curl up and read a book or watch a movie. The project was designed by Caspar Lohner at the Chair for Computer Aided Architectural Design CAAD, Department of Architecture, ETH Zurich, supervised by Mathias Bernhard and Manuel Kretzer and produced in collaboration with Kläusler Acrylstein AG, the exclusive distributor for HI-MACS® in Switzerland. Appree Leaf It Stickies

A few years ago, I introduced you to Leaf-It , Appree’s leaf-shaped stickies. They’ve since launched a few different styles of leaves, including the most recent — ivy. I can think of so many fun projects I’d like to do using these… Share This: Twitter | Facebook | Discover more great design by following Design Milk on Twitter and Facebook . © 2012 Design Milk | Posted by Jaime in Art , Home Furnishings , Style & Fashion | Permalink | No comments

Get Out! Link Outdoor Fabrics

Link Outdoor has just released a new fabric collection designed by Doug & Gene Meyer, perfect for use with their new furniture collection designed by Doug Levine. It’s nice to see something more modern for outdoor instead of the traditional solids, checks and oversized florals. These will be so fun next to the pool (if only I had a pool…).

Lazy Linda Kitchen Organizer

Dutch design company Royal VKB has recently launched the Lazy Linda Kitchen Organizer. It was created by British designer Simon Wilkinson to hold all of the kitchen utensils we use on a daily basis. The container features two levels, the tall one to store long-handled items like spatulas and spoons and a low level that is perfect for smaller items like toothpicks, thermometers and spices. It has a ball-bearing system that allows the unit to spin for easy access. The Lazy Linda is available in white and grey and can be purchased at GSelect .

Trash Me Lamp by Victor Vetterlein

&Tradition ‘s Victor Vetterlein -designed Trash Me Lamp is created from the paper pulp of 4-paper egg cartons that are spread over a mold and left to dry. The concept word behind the piece is “transient,” in that people’s attention and interest in things is somewhat brief. The lamp can be taken apart quickly and then recycled into something new once it is no longer desired.
