Since I’ll be skiing in Colorado the next few days, I thought it would be fitting to post some images from a gorgeous home also in Colorado. If you’re a Real Housewives fan, you may recognize this as Camille Grammar’s house with Kelsey.
Currently on the market for $7.3 million, the Housewives took a quick trip to this home before Camille had to put it on the market. What I love most about it is the fact that you can ski right in and right out! But also that it’s rustic and cozy with a lot of modern aspects, and exactly where you want to spend a relaxing evening after a full day of skiing.
What do you think of this home?

There’s something about the texture that mongolian lamb fur adds to a room. I just love it.
In my own home, I’ve only gone as far as two fur pillows, but I certainly wouldn’t mind a fully furry chair. The chair in that first image is a regular old chair with a mongolian lamb throw literally thrown over it. What a difference.
How about mongolian fur bedding? I imagine sleeping under that fur blanket would be a bit hot and uncomfortable, but who cares about that when it looks unbelievably fantastic?
What do you think of mongolian fur?

My favorite kind of neons are the ones that are so bright they make your eyes hurt. There’s nothin’ like it.
Neons have been shown a lot lately – from home decor to clothing and accessories. Such bright colors just make everything a little bit more fun. Well, in my opinion at least!
What do you think of all these neons?

Remember that commerical from the 90s: “I feel like Chicken Tonight, like Chicken Tonight!”? I don’t know if I ever had the actual Chicken Tonight, but I do often say that I feel like chicken tonight! There’s just a million ways to make chicken, and many of them are quite easy. Do you eat a lot of chicken at your house?
Since I do, I’ve been keeping several chicken recipes on my radar. (aka Pinterest)
Here they are:
1 – Chicken Gyros
2 – Slow Cooker Honey-Sauced Chicken
3 – Baked Pesto Chicken
4 – Crock Pot Santa Fe Chicken
5 – White Cheddar Chicken Pasta
What chicken dishes are on your radar??

If you absolutely had to choose, would you rather have a bathroom of black lacquer…

Or would you rather a black lacquered bathtub?
Both are bold looks, just with different degrees of boldness! Me, I think I’d go for the whole lacquered bathroom. How about you?!

It must be all of the love flowing around from Valentine’s Day yesterday, because apparently today I’m having a love affair with white desks. Initially, I meant to round up some inspiring and invigorating office spaces, but then I realized they all had a white desk. And aside from the ghost chair, each desk is paired with a white office chair!
My love affair is probably because white desks clearly work in every situation, whether the walls are bright white, soft pink or a bold black. And because of the sleek brightness they add and the versatility it provides for surrounding decor.
What are you thoughts on a white desk in your office space?

This morning I came across the top image and my eyes were immediately drawn to the table at the end of the bed. It’s probable that I’ve seen a table in this spot before, but for some reason today it made me think “why?”
I absolutely love the mirrored table in the second image, but I can’t imagine a table at the end of my bed. In a realistic situation, like an everyday bedroom. What if you had a hot flash in the middle of the night and threw the covers over, knocking down beautiful candlesticks and accessories? Or what if that gorgeous table became my dog’s favorite sleeping spot?
It does look nice, but is it practical? Tell me what you think – do you love this look?

Although it’s two days after Valentine’s Day, take a look at FTD’s Facebook and Twitter and you’ll still find a lot of customer complaints and empty FTD apologies.
The acronym FTD is gaining all sorts of new meanings, such as Failure to Deliver or as my boss appropriately said, Florally Transmitted Disease. And just like an STD is never a good thing, neither is an FTD.
It’s one thing to not receive a flower order on Valentine’s Day for anyone. It’s heartbreaking for the recipient and humiliating for the sender. And judging from all of the visible complaints and the several news articles on 1-800-Flowers failures, this was an unnecessary situation experienced by many this Valentine’s Day. Including myself.
Which is fine, it happens. I figured I’d receive the flowers at work on Wednesday. Better late than never. Right?
Wrong! After apologizing profusely and buying me a vase of roses, my fiancé received a lovely little email from FTD at 2:30 in the morning on February 15 saying that his order for Heather Grant was unable to be filled due to lack of florists in the area.
Oh, wow. That’s terrible. That sucks. WAIT A MINUTE. Who the HECK is Heather Grant? (My name is Katie, in case you didn’t know.) The florist? Doubt it. Some other broad? YUP! That’s what I thought!
Well, gee thanks, FTD, I’d rather have a stroke than a bouquet of roses any day! Duh, wouldn’t you? Oh, and my fiancé also thanks you for all of the curse words I screamed at him upon receipt of the email. I mean, come on, who doesn’t love curses over kisses?
After a minor freakout and realizing that FTD messed up and that I didn’t need to end the engagement, my fiancé spent about five hours on hold/arguing/on hold/screaming at them. And what did they do?
I bet you guessed it right because they did nothing. NOTHING! No flowers, no future discount, no nothing. Not even a refund yet. Just a “Sorry, must have been a technical glitch.” Oh yeah, no big deal.
He finally got in touch with “Angel the Supervisor” who said call the 800 number anytime and ask for her. Because she might need to tell me Heather Grant was not receiving flowers from my fiancé just in case I went crazier. And in case he needed to tell her that WE WANT A REFUND. If you have a few or five hours to spare, call FTD and ask for Angel the Supervisor. Let me know how that goes.
And that’s my story. Although this post is a bit out of the realm of normal Six Different Ways content, I had to rant about share my experience. Just by telling this to friends and family, my fiancé and I have heard so many terrible experiences with FTD and similar sites that I’d love to hear yours as well.
So, please share: Have you ever received florally transmitted diseases rather than a beautiful bundle of flowers?!

I’m craving a quick, easy, creamy pasta. Probably not so healthy, but that’s okay with me!
I just did some quick pinteresting to find what I was looking for and I think this is it: Parmesan & Garlic Linguine. E-Z. P-Z. And creamy. YUM!
What’s for dinner at your house tonight?!
