Barcelona-based rug studio nanimarquina , founded in 1987 by Nani Marquina, has been creating contemporary textiles for the floor crafted in India, Morocco, Pakistan, and Spain. This month’s Deconstruction takes us to India, for the manufacture of one of the company’s most popular, and surely the most fun (polka dots in relief!): a fuchsia and purple concoction from the Topissimo collection, which won a Red Dot Design Award in 2003. Above: Nani Marquina with some of the women who manufactured the Topissimo Collection in the Indian workshops. The Topissimo Collection was designed by Nani Marquina in 2002. These are the first design sketches.

Materials: Stolmen chest of two drawers, steel furniture feet, screws, tape, all purpose glue, flagging, joint compound, flagging corners, silicone; Tools: jig saw Description: Inspired from the “bathroom special: space saving wall mounted vanity” I did my own Stolmen vanity unit. First I cut out the contour of the drain and the water valves on the backside of the Stolmen chest with the jig saw. 2. Mount the chest on the furniture feet – these are available in your building center in different forms and heights

Globe pendant lights can be done so many ways – in so many shapes, sizes, finishes. Whether arranged together or as a single light, a globe pendant light always seems to look good.
Today we’ve got two different kinds of globes going on. The first is a giant globe that looks to be made out of paper – like a paper lantern. It is hung over a quaint seating area with an intricate ceiling medallion. The second set of globes takes place over a modern dining set, where the globes are made of a smoky amber glass and arranged in a cluster of escalating height.
Both are two totally different looks using one simple element – a globe pendant. Personally, I’m really loving the giant globe - it’s just fun and different.
If you absolutely had to choose between these two looks – which would you rather?

Sometimes I geek out over more than one piece of furniture in a collection, as is the case with Miniforms , which has just been added to the Leif Petersen showroom in High Point. I pretty much love everything in the entire collection. I won’t be going to the October High Point Market this year, but you can bet that this would be at the top of my list of must-sees. Terrariums are made for people with black thumbs (i.e., me). Not only are they easy to take care of, they are beautiful to look at. They’re like little worlds contained in a miniature glass greenhouse

Mestizodizenio is a line of furniture from young Argentinian designer Leonardo Puppo. The line focuses on practical designs but with a punch that makes each one stand out. Each piece mixes wood with another color, or even black and white, which gives them their own personality. The line is meant to work in any room and in various situations making them adaptable for each user. Pistiruli is a coat rack meant for your various garments, umbrellas, and bags with its various tree-like limbs cascading off of it
