Maybe it’s the dreary weather in the NYC area, or maybe it’s all the talk of the 50 Shades of Grey books, but I’ve got greys on the brain today. Greys and only greys, it seems!
Most of these monochromatic rooms have a few pops of color here and there, but for the most part – they’re all shades of grey. As long as I have some color here and there, along with a bit of white, I think I could make it in a room like this. In fact, my own bedroom has a ton of grey and its one of my favorite rooms.
So, tell us – do you love this look? Would you be able to live in a room like this or would it make you feel too dreary?

Materials: PAX wardrobe , LYNGDAL doors, wood trim, mitre saw, table saw, chop saw, nails, screws Description: After looking at PAX wardrobes and also at several nice hacks here , we decided to remove our 1950s built in closet and replace it with a set of PAX wardrobes. Our closet measured 58″ across, so two 29 1/2″ wardrobe pieces would be close. We decided to maximize the closet so we chose the taller wardrobes. To make these fit, we had to enlarge the opening of the original closet by cutting up several inches, and also taking the plaster off the left side of the closet.

Bradley L. Bowers sent me his Shell lounge and the simple design and elegant minimalism about it made me want to grab a towel and slap on a bathing suit and head to the pool. Shell is designed to bring you balance – literally and figuratively, encouraging meditation through use forcing the user to relax and achieve equilibrium of the mind and body. A piece of furniture that elicits such a quick response is for sure a well-designed object. It was exhibited at SaloneSatellite with other pieces in the Studio PLZ DNT TCH collection

Monocomplex’s new lamp, After Image , was inspired from the scene of mouse fire play (‘Jui-bool-no-ri’ in Korean language), which is one of Korea’s traditional customs. After Image expresses the fast “afterimage” of fire moving quickly, recreating the natural curve using wires and steel pipes, which were combined irregularly and connected along the natural flow of the fire. The curves reflect the light’s continuity and durability.

Materials: Ikea Ivar Chair Description: Our Ikea hack could quite possibly be the largest Ikea hack ever! This summer we will be constructing a 1000 square foot pavilion made of 400 Ikea Ivar chairs arrayed and stacked in a 3-dimensional sine wave surface rising above the ground in Freedom Park, Atlanta Georgia. It’s public art, but also usable in that people can actually sit on it to socialize and spend time in the park sitting in the chairs. The design is very particular to the Ikea Ivar chair because the slightly bent angle of the seatback creates a special texture to the sculpture

Happy Friday! Hope you had a great week and an even better weekend ahead. Here’s what six awesome things we came across this week, and as always, feel free to share yours in the comments!
1) Wouldn’t it be amazing to drive around with these decorative tires on your car?
2) I’m getting ready to get my life organized and in order and this blog is providing tons of inspiration. (So what if I don’t have kids and I’m reading parenting blogs, it’s for life organization!!)
3) This fun print is the perfect gift for the diehard Mad Men fan in your life – even if it’s for yourself!
4) Warm weather calls for light airy cocktails, like this refreshing champagne punch.
5) Would you go dizzy working in a room with these black and white stripes?
6) Loving the modern style and ample storage in this bed from Wonk.
Enjoy the weekend!! (And don’t forget to enter our giveaway!)

We’re hardly slaves to the trends, but when a look as fun as fluoro comes along, it’s hard to resist. Neon fashions bring to mind armfuls of brightly-colored jelly bracelets à la Madonna and her legions of Material Girls from the ’80s, but back then, when it came to decor, mauve was having a moment.

GDG Studios is the New Jersey-based design studio run by Joseph Gower who creates handmade porcelain objects with a contemporary twist. The Crochet and Styroware pieces are so unique and completely fun to stare at. I love the textures and shapes that he creates along with the added touches of gold or silver and even cotton. I love any and all things faceted so these pieces really speak to my geometric shapes-loving heart.
