One of our favorite growing American companies, Kontextür , is best known for their bathroom accessories such as the Hanging Line , Rubber Ducky Doorstop , and modern shower curtain rings . But now, they’re taking their great design into other rooms of the house: the kitchen and dining room. Their new 3.2.1. Collection of hand blown and hand-etched crystal decanters and tumblers is designed by New York designer Jeff Miller . I’d love for these to grace my table for holiday meals and evening cocktails

Happy Valentine’s Day!!
Are you a lover or a hater of Valentine’s Day? I’ve always loved it, whether I’ve had a Valentine or not. It’s just a fun, whimsical holiday that can be serious in love or just a happy-go-lucky day. Yeah, people call it the Hallmark Holiday, but who cares? It’s an excuse to show extra love and joy than usual.
Anyway – if you had to choose what would make your PERFECT Valentine’s Day – what would it entail? For me, it’s pretty simple – all I want this year is a bottle of pink champagne to enjoy and a bunch of delicious cupcakes. Specifically these Baked by Melissa cupcakes – if you are ever in NYC, you have to try them. They’re about the size of a quarter – and a bit expensive – but the flavors are out of this world and the small size allows for more taste-testing! I think I also want some pizza to cheat on my diet and make this V-Day extra perfect. Of course, diamonds would be nice, but I’m trying to keep it low budget it this year!!!
So, tell me what would make today your ideal Valentine’s Day?

Vipp , the ruler of the bathroom and kitchen world, enters a new universe with this beautiful table made of untreated, recycled teak planks and powder-coated aluminum. Because each table top is made using recycled wood, each table will be unique with its own character.

Loving these new inkbrush placemats and napkins from west elm . Inspired by Japanese brushwork, the set is artistic, but also adds a little zen to your dining experience. It reminds you to be in the moment and enjoy a special meal with friends and family, something my house seems to need these days as we rush to eat dinner standing up and running around after toddlers

Even though I’m typically always in the mood for something pink, I’m really feeling it this week being that tomorrow is the holiday of LOVE. Yeah, V-day can be full of pre-fixe meals and cheesy cards, it’s still a fun excuse to be tacky and lovey-dovey. And wear pink. Or red, obviously!
That brings us to this week’s product pick which is a beautiful dining set designed by EPS Design. What we see here is the Dreamy Blow ‘Parsons’ Dining Table surrounded by a handful of Pink Blow Cubes. Both the table and the stools are made from acrylic with loose pigment powder.
Wouldn’t it be wonderful to have a Valentine’s Day dinner at this fabulous dining set? I say so!
Do you have any plans for tomorrow? Does it involve anything pink?

My parents always had a lot of wood furniture in their home, and now looking around my own, I realized I have a ton of it as well! They actually gave me my dining table and chairs – all wooden – but my coffee table, bed frame, tv stand, bar stools – everything is wood! Aside from the coffee table and tv stand – my fiance picked them out – the dining set, bed frame, and stools are all on the modern side, even though they’re made from wood. Sometimes when I think of modern, I think of chromed legs and lucite – not wood. Do you ever think that way?
Anyway, I came across a site that sells Pine-Oak Furniture, including the dining set you see above. I love the unique shape of the table that is far more modern than traditional, wouldn’t you agree? If you browse through their Collection of Oak Furniture and Pine Wood Furniture, you’ll see some of the furniture is more transitional, but they also offer a ton of modern wood furniture as well. They also pair a lot of their dining tables with chic modern chairs – and I love that contrast.
What are your thoughts on wood furniture? Do you have a lot in your home or do you mix and match with other materials such as chrome and stainless steel?

One of things that makes the S tockholm Furniture Fair one of my favorite design shows, is Greenhouse. Entirely dedicated to new designers, this area showcases products that have never been shown before and are not yet in production, making this a really exciting place to see new design thinking. This year, the space was designed by Note Design Studio . Susanna Wahlin, Interior Architect at Note told me: “We were thinking about what it’s supposed to be and why it’s called Greenhouse. We took inspiration from baroque gardens – they were a place to socialize, to experience beauty, where you can meet and mingle, and experience each other’s ideas. This year, we’ve called it ‘the garden of new ideas’, so we’ve removed some of the walls that are normally between the exhibitors, so the new ideas could really meet, so that both the exhibitors could talk with each other, but also so the audience could ‘dare’ to step inside.” Alexis Holmqvist, AD and Graphic Designer at Note added: “When you have deep walls you have to put the stands in a row, when you have shorter walls you can have softer curves

Designer Jess Tasker of Trunk Studio set out to mix a new Canadian aesthetic with the classic clean lines of all things Danish modern when creating her debut furniture line called The North Collection . Working with Nova Scotia woodworkers, Tasker was able to take her designs from the page to fruition in this stellar four-piece collection. The Scout Side Table (first image also) stands with angled legs that mimic the silhouette of mountains, while the tabletop comes with a side ledge for added storage by your sofa or your bed.

I’ve been staring at this bright room on Pinterest for a few days now. After Nemo snowed us in for the beginning of the weekend, it’s been refreshing to see the bright, preppy fun of this room.
Of course, the bright pink tufted chair is what calls out to me the most. But I also feel that if I had such a vivid and colorful room in my home – such as a workspace – filled with all of those books and quirky accessories – I’d feel more motivated. Not that I don’t feel motivated now, it’s just that my workspace is in the basement, and I don’t always feel the urge to shut myself down there! Maybe if I had that hot pink chair I would!
What do you think of this decor? Do you love this look or is it too colorful and maybe a bit too preppy for your style? Personally, I love it – and would love to see the rest of the space – but I can’t find the original source for the image! Such is life on Pinterest, I guess.
