It’s been a while since we featured the work of Dare Studio , but they’ve built quite a collection of mid-century-inspired sleek furniture that has me wishing I had more room in my house. Are you doing any baking this holiday season? I’m dying to get in my kitchen and bake a million cookies and truffles and maybe even some peppermint bark, too!
The cookie recipes I’ve included in today’s Recipe Radar are all cookies that I plan to bake this weekend. I made all of my cookie decisions based on cookies that my mom made every year. How do you choose what cookies to make? Do you like to try new recipes or do you stick to your traditional faves?
Recipes:
Sugar Cookies
Molasses Crinkles
Thumbprints
Dark Chocolate Truffles
Candy Canes
Oatmeal Scotchies

Designer Rachel Ballantine is challenging our perception of comfort by creating a minimalist chair from one piece of CNC-cut wood that acts as a frame. Based on what materials you find most comfortable (or uncomfortable), fill the chair frame with your own “idea of comfort.” Use plush toys, pillows or blankets… or pencils?

Zoe Garred runs Vancouver-based design studio Fleet Objects . She designed the Fleet Ribbon Ornament as a way to use up some aircraft plywood she had laying around. The thin plywood material proved to be bendable and very strong

I don’t know about you, but I keep my change in a hideous plastic container that does nothing for my decor. It’s kind of embarrassing now that I think about it, because it has a yellow and brown sticker on the outside.
So, anyway, I’ve been thinking for a while now that maybe a fun piggy bank would be better for my home. Gotta love something that’s extremely functional and stylish right? I’ve been drooling over that blue Areaware piggy bank for forever now, so I had to include it. But I think the other five I found are pretty fab, don’t you? (Especially that glitter one that is probably for a little girls room but I just don’t care!)
Oh, and one of these six different piggy banks is technically not a piggy bank, but that’s ok. Can you spot which one!
Do you have a piggy bank or do you keep your change in an ugly jar like me?

Materials: Anton, high gloss paint, d-c-fix Self Adhesive Vinyl Description: Practical but UGH-LY hand-me-down cabinet with a huge old grease stain on top. No way this was gonna stand next to my Expedits in my home office/livingroom looking like that! Fast and easy fix. Lightly sanded everything then painted the outside, drawer edges and handles (which I had removed previously) using black high gloss paint.

Last week, when I talked about six different Christmas trees, I promised something for those who don’t celebrate Christmas. I know I’m a few days behind, but here I am with six different menorahs!
Do you celebrate Hanukkah? If so, what type of menorah do you celebrate with? Do you prefer a more traditional menorah, or would you go for some of the more modern ones, like the first one in the second row above? (It’s made of concrete!)
The menorahs above, from L to R: 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 6
