A simple idea makes a brilliant design in the Cub Lamp. This unique design by Julian Robin appears as a normal block of wood until you turn it on. Once lit, a beautiful leaf design is revealed – a design that is actually etched on the Cub Lamp’s interior.

Modular lounge sets have been very popular lately, but this new one from Arne Quinze is a bit different. Making its debut at this year’s Milan Furniture Fair, the High Rise works vertically instead of horizontally. Its pieces stack on top of one another to make a unique visual statement as well as a constantly changing seating arrangement. See more here.

I guess it’s because I am a writer, but I am fascinated with all things letters. These chairs are no exception.

The ABC Chairs are the work of Roeland Otten. And yes, there are 26 different styles – one for each letter of the alphabet. The type font has been optimized for three dimensions and of course to actually provide a seat. Fascinated – I might have to get myself an S for my office.. what do you think?

I met Michal Maciej Bartosik at ICFF when I noticed that his Dominion tables were playing tricks on my eyeballs. From the designer: Dominion is a series of light objects that reproduce the abstract universal plane ad infinitum. Akin to the voyaging monolith of Stanley Kubrick’s Space Odyssey and Ludwig Mies van der Rohe’s clearspan pavilion, they are ambiguous in form and scale; they exist as both solids and voids. At once furniture, at once follie, they delineate instances of the Cartesian grid upon which space is organized

Materials: 2 Aneboda nightstands Description: After moving a pair of Billy bookcases into our Aneboda-stocked guest room, we realized the nightstands suddenly had no home. There wasn’t enough floorspace to keep them both around, given that we already have a narrow 5-drawer and standard sized 3-drawer dresser in there. To maintain storage space, but use less floorspace, I simply stacked the leftover nightstands, with a minor modification. I removed the top board on the lower nightstand, and removed the feet from the upper nightstand. With a few holes drilled, I was able to fit them together with the existing twist-in metal rods and wooden dowels
