Table Lamps for Your Wall

A fresh take on the table lamp, these table lamp silhouettes are wall mountable for a unique look. Made by Gumdesign for Zeroombra, an Italian design company, the Sognibelli lamps come in a variety of colors from bright purple and orange to simple black and white. The base of each lamp has a small shelf for accessories, such as eyeglasses, books or magazines. As an added eco-friendly bonus, Sognibelli lamps use LED lighting to save on the amount of electricity they rely on.

Made from aluminum, these fun wall lamps are a great fit above (or instead of) a bedside table or in a nursery next to a rocking chair. Where would you use the Sognibelli Lamps?

Canlis Glass

Jean-Pierre (J.P.) Canlis , known for his serene interpretations of nature in glass, has just crossed a new boundary. His Wheat Installation translates the mundane into elegance through a unique display of glass. Each stalk of wheat is hand made by the glass artist who resides in Seattle, Washington and runs his studio and gallery space in downtown Seattle. The Wheat can be scaled down to run down the center of a dining room table or fill a niche as tall as seven feet in height! The Raindrop Chandelier is a modern, fresh feel to the traditional “chandelier.” Inspired by the endless winters of the Pacific Northwest, the Raindrop Chandelier has the possibilities for large-scale installations in public spaces to private home centerpieces. Theory Inspired Design

venn-table

Remember Venn Diagrams? Even if you can’t recall what exactly they are for, you’ve definitely seen them before. And while they can certainly be useful, who knew they could also be art?

Swedish design firm Outofstick (cool name!) that’s who. This unique table features gorgeous hues in a fun, nesting design inspired by the Venn diagram. Each is constructed from colored waterjet-cut glass and iron legs.

A little nerdy but a lot of fun, who could see using these in there place?

Cookie, anyone?

Here’s a round of chairs that are as delicious as your favorite version of this chair’s namesake. Designed by Infiniti Design in Italy, the Cookie is a polycarbonate chair that obtains its shape through injection molding.

The best part is that indulging in these Cookies won’t make you feel guilty. Available in red, black, white and transparent, the Cookie also comes in three different shapes. There is a 4-star base version of the Cookie chair that is made in either aluminum or steel rod. The two other versions are made from chrome, one is known as the spider version and the other a stackable sleigh model.

What do you think about these Cookies? Much healthier than the ones we’re used to, right?

What Can Your Coffee Table Do?

white desert coffee table

Coffee tables are something you spend a lot of time looking at, and perhaps that explains why I am so fascinated by them. I always have my eye out for unique ones that are more than the rectangular norm. In fact mine is not a coffee table at all, but actually a trunk that easily opens for hidden storage space (yes!)

So it’s easy to see why the White Desert Coffee Table caught my eye. Designed by Karim Mekhtigian for Hid’n by La Roche, this linear table dips in the middle forming a bowl of sorts for fruit, candles, flowers, even a beer or two! I love the possibilities and the design looks pretty cool too.

What do you think – do you like an unique table like this or do you prefer something more traditional?
